We have not approved a Shadowdancer in a very long time.  There are unresolved issues about them and they cannot seem to get past the board.

Also, we would always request that a new player put in more time before asking for a special request.  We like to see what a player is capable of and seeing how they meld with the current LotN scene.

Alrighty..... revised and more detailed version of our two char's. The history would be the same for both so I'll only repost one if that's ok.

Player name: 13ROSES
Race: Brownie
Name: Harriet Shoemaker
Sex: Female
Alignment: Lawful good
Deity: Cyrrollalee
Class: Cleric
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Light brown
Skin: Lightly tanned.
Height: 1'4
Weight:  4 pounds
Age:  43 years old

~Wife of Arlie Shoemaker, whom she’s been married to for the last twenty-five years.
~She is honest and caring, and her favorite pass time is getting into heated debates with Arlie, but it’s very clear the two have a strong bond and their shenanigans are both taken and given lightheartedly.
~Having lived off the land in the outskirts of Roid for several years, they watched as people came and went through their home, never seeing them. One evening the couple spotted a beautiful young woman who’d run through, seemingly very upset. They followed her in secret, and in a quiet corner of the wood she met the young son of a farmer. Sobbing to the man, who tried to comfort her the woman explained that her father’s business was earning them enough money to even put food on the table and the father meant to find a suitable rich noble to marry the woman off in exchange for a fair price that would keep his business alive. The young man having little to offer the woman’s father for her hand vowed he’d find a way for them to be together. The young brownie couple being nearly newly weds themselves were touched by the scene and decided to help the woman’s father bring his business back into prosperity. The two worked though every night making clothing the likes of which the nobles had never seen and over the next few days business picked up quickly. The young woman was eventually married the farm boy and the couple moved into their new home. The woman worked at her father’s shop while her husband went out to work his family’s farm every day and they were quite happy. The woman’s father nearly a decade later, became ill and left the clothing shop to his daughter. She lovingly looked after him for the next two years until his ailment ended his life, and with the help of the brownies’ couple, did quite well in the family run business. The woman had even started creating some of her own designs and the brownie couple took to less demanding tasks. Over the years, the brownie couple had aged, and late one night, sat up and talked how the woman’s skill at making clothes matched their own. When the building shook terribly, the two heard battle coming from outside and decided, soon it would be time for them to leave.

Is there any sort of... restriction, on what can be requested? Nothing absolutely absurd, I know that, but for example if someone were to request a Kenku or a Satyr? I'm hoping we just need a good background story.

Show a knowledge for the race, a decent history and the dedication to pull it off and just about anything is open to my vote.  A Satyr might be pretty funny -- the only thing lustier than Seadin in the nwn woods.

Class:          Fighter 5
         Bard 10
         Red Dragon Desciple 10
Alignment:    Chaotic Neutral
Name:      Tressa Cymry
Race:         Human
Age:         Mid-twenties
Height:                      5’ 10”
Weight:                     132

Tressa was born to a single mother in the land of Damara, south of the Spine of the World. She and her mother were part of a semi-nomadic tribe and her parentage came quickly into question. Her mother refused to indulge the tribe with the identity of the father. Growing up Tressa showed an aptitude for music, and was taken under the wing of one of the shamans. Although a few of her tribe mates like her friend Kaelyn respected her for this, she was shunned by many more. In light of her questionable conception, the fiery spark in her eyes, and perhaps even a bit of jealousy over her mentor, several of her peers began to accuse her of dark sorcery and other sinister practices. These in turn instigated childish pranks carried out by Tressa and Kaelyn as retaliation which only worsened the problem. The two girls’ devious peers were children of some of the tribe’s leaders and after a few months of repeated accusations coupled with the decision that Tressa was of an age to fend for herself she was exiled, despite the pleas of her mother. The morning she left, her mother gave her a charcoal sketch of a man she had never seen before, a man she knew immediately to be her father. Without a word she took it, tucking it away safely she set out into the unknown.

Once she was on her own, Tressa began to wander west. One of the only things she was ever told of her father was that he was a traveler, so traveling seemed like a fitting course of action. She soon met her childhood friend, Laflyn, who decided it was time to see more of the world and set out with Tressa. Over several months they passed through Vaasa, Cormanthor and Cormyr, but Tressa was always sure to keep the Spine in sight, whether for a reminder of home or a beacon to guide her west, she wasn’t quite sure. Little did the two travelers know, though, their friend Kaelyn was always a few days’ journey behind her. With a heavy heart she went around the desert of Anauroch, the mountains fading from sight. Tressa practiced her craft, playing her music on streets and in taverns to scrap by as best she could. All the while she wondered what exactly it was about her that had caused her so much trouble. With the mountains lying far to the north, she decided she would set out to find her father, hoping he could provide the answers for which she yearned.

Inspired by her decision, she followed the River Reaching and its tributary to Baldur’s gate, then turning north she searched all the taverns she played in, asking the patrons if they’d seen the man in her drawing. It was on the coast she met an elven sorcerer, who while cryptic seemed to know more than he let on. Now a party of three, they continued north, invigorated again as the mountains again came into view. On a warm spring morning they wandered into Port Llast and stopped into the tavern. Perhaps this would be the place…

Okay, after two or something like that weeks of planning and talking about this, I finally think it's ready to be put out here. Going to request two things, yes, two. First off will be the race of Satyr, and secondly will be the prestige class of Shadow Dancer. Information and story are below. :)

Information:

Name: Astraeus Gibbons
Class: Rogue 10, Shadow Dancer 10, Ranger 5. (If you want them in order of levels, if I ever get that high, it would be Rogue-7, Ranger-3, Shadow Dancer-10, Rogue-3, Ranger-2)
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Race: Satyr
Age: 22
Weight: 143
Height: 5 Foot 7 Inches
Profession: Sneaking and wooing. ( :) )

The Story:

Raised on the outskirts of the Cold Wood in secrecy, Astraeus lived a moderately secluded life. His parents, or “care-takers”, were both older men, in their mid-sixties. For the most part he was hidden from other living beings, yet he would occasionally be introduced to friends of his farmer parents when they felt he could handle the human contact. Astraeus wasn't like the other children who would play in the fields of the farms that surrounded the small cottage they lived in, for some reason or another he was cursed with a mutated form, which he didn't understand.

His lower body resembled an animal, particularly a goat, which he compared himself with on occasion to the goats that were in the barn. Covering his lower half he had thick brown hair, with small, scattered spots of snow white. The upper body was what stunned his parents and himself, coming to an age of fifteen his entire upper half became more masculine, a short hair covered his chest, and the rest of his muscles became clear cut and visible, something most fifteen year olds wouldn't ever know. His face was incredibly charming, very handsome and suave to every degree, although there were two small horns that arose from his decently tanned forehead.

Finally, on his twentieth birthday, he was introduced to someone who would change his life forever. The day started off normal, he came up from the basement and ripped into his breakfast, smiling and joking with his guardians, until they both turned towards him with eyes that were evidently serious.

“Astraeus, it's time we had... a talk, about why you're... different. We we're gonna' do this last year but we wanted to wait another year, just so you were into your maturity before hand.” The men both sat down and smiled, Astraeus was confused and slowly trotted towards the table.

“You see, John and I were in the woods a while back and we saw a blood trail. It went on for a long while ended up at a bush, a pretty large bush, with a male, just like you, lying dead in front of it. We heard some rustling from inside the bush an-”

The conversation stopped as a teenage girl dashed through the front door, her blond hair waving in her face. Soft green eyes scanned the room and stopped directly on Astraeus.

“John... my dad needs you in the field, he said it's urgent.”
“Bah! Alright, Astraeus stay here, we'll be back in a minute.”

The two men left the room, yet the girl stayed, awestruck by the sight in front of her. Yet it wasn't a one-way emotion, he felt overwhelmed at the sight of her. Feelings rushed through his body, feelings he didn't understand, yet they felt amazing.

“Uh... Hi...” she softly broke the silence which had settled for a minute or two.

“Oh, yeah, hey there...” his hoof clicked rapidly on the floor, his entire body seemed to be shaking.

Conversation took a slow start, yet they had introduced themselves and got along seemingly well, all though there was an obvious awkwardness since he was a Satyr and she was a human female. A few hours later they decided to part, yet agreed to go towards the lake tomorrow evening. Astraeus knew it would be hard to get out, so he figured he'd just sneak out late.

The next day passed quickly and the moon finally rose, the men finished their alcohol and went their separate ways up the stairs to bed, yet as soon as the doors closed, a window opened, and out he flew. They conversed a while at the lake, and another date was planned, yet when he got home, every light was shimmering in the house.

“Oh hell... this is going to be bad.” he muttered to himself.

Sticking to the shadows, he ducked and dodged the light while keeping his hooves nearly silent on the old wooden porch. Quietly he slipped back through his window and crept downstairs.

“That was pretty easy... heh..”

Days and months came to pass quickly, the girl and him continued to meet every night and his mastery of the shadows to get back into the house or avoid the wanderer by the lake grew quickly. Yet for once sneaking out may have saved his life, although the pain caused from his survival was more than he would be able to bare. The night went as planned, Maria and him had spent the night talking and flirting in the tall hay field, they left smiling and headed home. Though instead of sneaking in, the door was open and the windows shattered, angry voices yelled from inside. Slowly he approached one of the windows, sticking to the shadows the best he could. Three men dressed in black stood inside, his two parents laid dead on the floor.

“Where the hell is the Satyr?! We didn't travel to the middle of nowhere to not find it!”

His heart dropped and his hooves clicked briefly, sending all three men in a complete spin to look at the door. Finally his talent would get a final test. Ducking under the light which had illuminated from the windows he slid around towards the back; silence and darkness his two best friends. Once he hit the ground he entered a full sprint south west, running as far as the paths would take him.

Three months and a robe later, he found himself approaching a large city, known to the outside as “Gibbons”, a traveling professor of the art of shadows.

“Maybe this is where I can come out of hiding...” he glanced around at the dozens of people who lined the streets, merchants, thugs, nobles, all different colors, races, and sizes.

_____________________________________________________________

Polished up my knowledge on the Satyrs, though went with a different approach than that of the Dryad. If anyone is curious about them, check this site, found out a lot of information about them from it:

http://narzil.tfcentral.com/ecology.html

Hope the story wasn't too long, shortened it up after my word document pushed three pages. Anyhow, let me know what's up, I suppose if there is some sort of agreement between getting a race and not a prestige I'd be cool with that, though there'd be a lot of background changing.

Cheers,
Chris

 Juslaxn, go ahead.  Please let me know when the char is complete and I can leto it.  Use a human as your base character.

Do not abuse HiPS.... needless to say, it can result in the loss of the class for everyone.

Good luck, have fun.

Player Name: NWoutcast
Character Name: Nicoli Valentine
Race Requested: Half-Vampire and or Half-fiend (I know there could be issues with the Half-Vampire)

"How are the crops doing darling?"

The sentence came from a beautiful farmer’s wife sitting out in front of their roughly assembled wooden cottage. Johan looked at his wife thinking that no matter how poor they were, she was the greatest prize of all.

"They seem to be drying up but with all the rain lately it makes no sense." his gruff and exhausted voice came out with a burning sensation in his chest.

"I need some water." Johan walked toward the house never taking his eyes from Anna. As he passed he rubbed her stomach,

"And how is our little one doing my dear?"

"He's excitable." Anna replied with a smile.

"I think you should go in and sleep dear. There isn't much else we can do tonight" Johan turned and watch as the sky moved from an array of oranges and pinks slowly slip into dark blues as the sunset.

"Go on darling I just need to check the cows and I'll be along after you."

"Alright." Anna said with a huff caused by trying to stand too quickly.

"Be careful." Johan said grabbing his canteen and starting to walk to the barn. The walk itself was a few acres but nothing to stressful. His walk there to him seemed short but the light had died out real fast.

Winter must be coming sooner than I thought.

He made his way to the barn. Something wasn't right here. He broke into a run, throwing the doors to the barn open. There the cattle stood watching him.

"Why are you all so damned quiet scared me to death?"

Johan smiled and closed the doors turning and running right into something. He fell back dropping his canteen.

Part 2

Anna laid carefully down into bed. She slipped off her worn leather shoes and rested her head on the hard cotton pillow. Before she knew it shed drifted to sleep, dreaming of her new baby boy running and playing with his father. Something woke her, a wet feeling dripping on her head. She opened her eyes.

When did it start raining?

She slowly moved from bed to close the shutters.

"Johan, can you make sure the front door is bolted?"

"I'm sorry, Johan's sleeping but I'll get the door for you."

Anna froze turning slowly to look at the bedroom door. There in deep shadows half covering his ornate robes stood a very pale man, his cloths black with a deep purple velvet vest under his overcoat. He moved but his face seemed hidden in the shadows no matter where he went.

"W-w-who are you? Where's Johan?"

He moved his arm up and pressed his hand to his chest. "Who am I?"

"I am but the ruler of this land my lady. I have come to make you an offer. I want your service in my castle. I will pay you a great deal if you do accept."

"Where's Johan?!"

"You need not worry about him Anna. He's resting soundly." He moved his hand from his chest and pointed at the bed. The sheets now soaked and crusted with crimson, Johan's lifeless form laid there his eyes wide with horror as his last moments came upon him. His shirt had been torn to scraps and his chest filled with small finder sized holes, his neck torn into ribbons.

Anna fell to the floor in shock, unable to move, unable to speak. The man moved closer his face becoming visible in the moonlight. His gaze overtook her and a voice told her to rise. She was unable to resist it. She moved almost weightless as if floating toward the stranger.

"Now Anna, this will only hurt a little."

He gently wrapped her in his arms and moved the cloth down from her robe to reveal the soft flesh of her neck. He moved swiftly, his mouth open and fangs fully visible. Anna stared up at the ceiling, the thought of her husband’s fate gone; all she could think of was this moment. It was intoxicating, the intimacy and the pain messing in perfect harmony. The ecstasy lasted only a second before light faded and a deep darkness overtook her.

Part 3

I grew up never knowing my real parents. Count Valentine told me they were peasants that died in the plaque twenty years ago. He said he found me in my mother’s arms as she lay dying, her body pock marked. I was never sure if I believed him. I’ve been feeling strange lately. I’ve never been one to go out during the day but lately the sunlight seems to almost burn. My teeth have grown sharp but for, as far as I can tell, no reason. I’ve grown deathly pale. I keep asking the count what’s happening to me but all he tells me is that it’s perfectly normal. I have a strong heartbeat and I’ve been in good health all my life. With the new developments and my ever growing distrust of my adopted father I set out to find the truth about my parents. Valentine must be lying.
