OOC Timothy Winterwolf
« on: April 17, 2013, 06:26:35 AM »
Before I can tell what Timothy Winterwolf is, I must describe a Paladin of Freedom. The paladin of freedom is chaotic good, dedicated to liberty and free thought.

This paladin variants aren't meant to be unique classes in and of themselves, but rather alignment-based variations of the paladin. He has the same Hit Die, skill points per level, weapon and armor proficiencies, and spells per day as the standard paladin. Their class skill lists are nearly identical, with a couple exceptions. Their spellcasting functions identically to that of the standard paladin. When a class feature has the same name as a paladin class feature, it functions the same as the one described for the standard paladin.

Code of Conduct
A paladin of freedom must be of chaotic good alignment and loses all class abilities if he ever willingly commits an evil act. Additionally, a paladin of freedom's code requires that he respect individual liberty, help those in need (provided they do not use the help for lawful or evil ends), and punish those who threaten or curtail personal liberty.

Age:21

IC Alignment: Chaotic Good

The Divine forges burned as Tymora sat nearby. Watching the Dwarven Deity forge her a divine weapon for her new status. Smiling, she flipped a silver coin with her face on one side and clovers on the other. The weapon was a longsword forged from an ore that Tymora found on her travels. Rare and beautiful she knew the only one capable of forging a weapon from it.

When the blade was forged, the dwarven deity gave her a matching sheath to go with it. Beshaba was jealous of the weapon, for her own was made in the shadows and was made to look as evil as she was. That night she schemed and plotted to steal the holy artifact from her twin.

In the blackest of nights, the dark deity exacted her plan. The longsword rested at the foot of Tymora's bed. As the dark deity of misfortune grabbed the hilt, Tymora mearly giggled at her sister. The candle light illuminated the pair, Tymora holding the real sword and Bethsada holding a fake.

Angry, and humiliated, the goddess fled her sisters realm, swearing that one day she'll get her hands on the beautiful blade. Naming it Tymora's Dagger in her spite. Thinking it was clever of her sister to call it a Dagger, she decided to keep it named thus.

Knowing her domain would be ruined if Beshaba was to attack with her Black Finger Assassins souls, he sent the blade to the Forgotten Realms. The temple south of Icewind Dale, where her own Fellowship was being formed. Handing the blade to the Abbot, she warned of the dangers that may come apon them. Suggesting that they reform the duty of that temple to the safe guard of the sword.

Thus they trained. Hard and long to become masters with the Longsword. Each Abbot passing his knowledge of the sword to his heir for generations to come. As Tymora's influance grew, so did the Fellow of Free Fate. The temple south of Icewind becoming a base to Paladins of Freedom. Tymora's Coin decorating their armor as they disguised themselves as preists and monks while they worked to free people and allow free thinking. The head of the order never using the sword but keeping it in the hands of their most trusted paladin.

And that's where Winterwolves comes in. The Winterwolves was named such for their tactics to fight like wolves in winter, starved and tired, they were the most feirce warriors. Originally titled Winter-Cleavers (My Parties name during Icewind Dale 2) during the war with the Legion of the Chimera in 1310, they changed their names to Winterwolf a generation before Timothy Winterwolf. They were one of the adventuring companies that helped saved the Ten Towns of the North.

Being decorated heros to begin with, the son of the head of the clan was sent to the Tymorian Temple to be raised. The pull of adventure being too strong for the clan to risk their only heir. They never returned, rumored to be slain while defending the Dales from an unknown foe.

Timothy grew into a fine Paladin of Freedom. Eager to train and impress his commanders. The Fellowship's leader smiled at his eagerness and good heart. The strong swordarm proved the better ally than most amoung the fellows. Free to pick their favored weapon, many picked what they knew. Monk weapons and ranged was that generations favorite. Timothy's was the longsword, Tymora's Dagger weapon class.

Days turned to months and months to years as Tim's training continued. Feeling the time was right, the Abbot (Also the leader of the Fellows of Free Fate) handed him the sword. His orders were simple, carry it from temple to temple and use it in battle to do the duties of a Paladin of Freedom. And fight the Black Fingers where ever they are found. Make a name for himself so the Paladins of the Trinity can't speak agaisnt the laws their order broke. But until that day, Timothy was to be disguised as a humble preist and guardian of one Tymorian holy relics.

Thinking it to be a simple task, Timothy took his armor and the holy blade with the abbots blessings. Months into the journey, Tim had faught many battles with the Fingers, most he senced being fellow Paladins but of the darker veriation, Slaughter and Tyrrany. Shivers ran up Tims spine as he felt the presence of the Bandits and theives with dark intentions and souls. He was ambushed and knocked out, his gear stolen save for his armor. A couple days, a week, he doesn't know how long he was knocked out. All he knew was his duty as a Paladin of Freedom and to his deity, Tymora.
