Elves

Stopping by this forum I found a distinct lack of material about a simple but fundamental topic: Elves.

I would like to make this thread a repository of useful and (insofar as possible) authoritative links on the subject.

Any post should contain, first and foremost, a link. Comments on the link are welcome, but please keep them short and to the point.

And please refrain from posts that just reflect your opinion. I'm sure everyone has one, but equally sure that not everyone is interested in them.

The first link I would like to share is a biggie is a link to the Forgotten Realms Wiki:
