-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MARATHON INFO
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the start at 10 am Saturday I'll be doing events and quests.  I may not necessarily be running a quest at all times, there may be lulls where I am just possessing npcs or creating bounties.

The quests will vary from short one shots to long epic quests.  The ongoing plot-line will be heavily involved, and a major server event will take place toward the end of the event.   I will try to avoid quests for certain levels, especially any quest that prevents someone in the 24 hour challenge from taking place.

It is not a necessity that you come and stay for the full 24 hours.  Unless you want to take the 24 challenge, your welcome to come and go and put in as much or as little time as you like.   Those who are involved in the major server event will receive commemorative items as well as those who complete the challenge.

Again, this is not just for the hardcore.  Feel free to pop in and have fun on a few quests and leave.  Staying on 24 hours is entirely optional.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
24 HOUR CHALLENGE RULES!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. The 24 hour challenge will begin at EXACTLY 10 AM, Eastern Standard Time (US) on Saturday, October 18.  In order to be eligible for the challenge you must be logged in at that time, so BE ON TIME.

2. You may log out for up to 15 minutes or afk for up to 15 minutes at a time.  As well, you get -ONE- 30 minute break freebie, should you need it.  Because of this, you can swap characters and computers, or restart your computer without being disqualified.   Because you only get 15 minutes you'll likely have to take meals at the computer.

3. Staying logged in but afk for extended periods does not count, nor does coming back periodically every 15 minutes just to reset your afk timer.  You must be logged in, engaged, and active, and that will be at my sole digression.

4. Those who can complete the 24 hour challenge will get a commemorative reward item on a character of their choice.   You don't necessarily have to take it on the character you were logged in most, but you only get it on one character regardless of how many you used for the challenge.

5. Finally, the interpretation of all rules are left to me.  If I think your abusing the system in some way I reserve the right to disqualify you.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saturday, October 18, 10 AM EST to Sunday October 19, 10 AM EST
will be there first ever....

SAKES ALL DAY ALL DAY 24 HOUR QUESTGASM QUESTATHON OF QUESTING!

Yes, I'll be making a san check and attempting to stay awake and logged in as a DM for 24 solid hours! (with quick afk breaks for meals and bathroom and such....)

I will also be on vent for the duration so you can witness first hand my gradual mental decline and self loathing as I try to figure out why I would subject myself to this.

Plus: your all welcome to take the 24 hour challenge too! If you can stay logged on as a player (You can log out briefly to switch chars as well as quick breaks for snacks and bathrooms) for the full 24 hours with you, you'll get a commemorative reward item on one character of your choice.

Events will be taking place all day with your chance to win other commerative rewards and reward items!  Quests will vary in style and level requirements so they'll be something for everyone at some point.

Come on... and the quests don't stop... don't stop til you quest enough....
DM Cat is watching you roleplay.

LMFAO!! If you can pull this off I'll give you over 9000 internets!!

If I can connect to the darn server by then I'll be there. (wait.. 7am PT.. that's harsh.)

Sounds like its the wrong time for me to have kicked cafine to the curb again.  Will I be able to wake before noon without the aid of it? Who knows, but it sounds fun.

I can say the same thing. Looks like i'll have to hope Sakes is insane enough to do it again one day.

Or at least that it will inspire other DMs to do the same thing *Looks hopeful*

I'll be in Ventrilo to hear it all. I may even stop by for a quest. No promises though. Serious City of Heroes action going on.

My main concern on this is the players being there...

Saturday mornings are not peak hours, nor are sunday mornings... I don't mind spending a few hours the first saturday setting up bounties, but I really don't want everyone logging at 3 am Sunday and then having to go 7 hours on an empty server.

So, mostly I'm looking for people willing to be around at what are normally off-peak hours because if I've been awake 20 hours by 6 am Sunday I won't make it if I'm staring at a blank screen for the next 4.

Tell ya what Sakes, it would start at 3 pm my time, so I will see what I can do about attending it for the full 24, if not even more than that.. no promises though, since I might have some other things to do.

If the server looks like it's empty and I'm awake and able to play, I'll come play with you, Sakes!

This has changed from Sakes entertaining the masses to someone keeping him company.

It's because we all love Sakes. Not to mention he'll be on for 24 hours, he's bound to go loopy, I totally want to see what it's gonna be like when he's exhausted and trying to do a quest. It will bring on the lolz.

Get some no doz mate. :)
