Yesterday, the server crashed and, on resetting, I was told my character is invalid and I couldn't log back on with her.

Could you have a look at her, please?

You should be okay to log in now.  One of your equipped items triggered the Item Level Restriction ruleset for the server.  I'm guessing it was your armour.
