Videocard overheating?
« on: July 10, 2008, 05:51:10 PM »
I recently started having random fps drops in nwn and then I noticed that when my videocard is running hot it slows itself down (when it gets over 80 degrees). This happened after I put my laptop on "high performance", at the control panel. The game then runs A LOT better though.. but those random slowdowns are kinda annoying.

I'm using the laptop on a flat surface.. so not on cloth or anything.

Maybe someone here can help or knows how to fix it?

I got a Dell XPS M1530 with Vista and a GeForce 8600M GT (ForceWare version: 174.74).

Maybe I've to download another driver?

Thanks in advance!

might want to get one of those cooling pads.  They plug right into your laptop via usb port.  Works great for our laptops.
