Hi,

I had been on the server earlier and put this server with my favourites.

When I tried to go on line later, it said the server was off line.
But from another player I heard the server was on. There were about 6 or 7 players on.

I looked at my history and favourites and the server was off line.
I looked at the roleplay servers and it wasn't there.
I tried to connect using the IP adress, it would not connect.

So... What could be the problem. I had been online before, the server was on line I yet, it kept saying it was off line?

I've had this problem a lot, where the server won't show up in my favorites or history, or on the role-play category. I usually just try the direct connect that's here or try logging off of my login name and back on and trying again.

The server is located on an Internet connection with a dynamic IP address. Unfortunately, NWN remembers the IP address, and not the server DNS name. So yes, you will need to direct-connect to nwn.lotn.info. That should always work.

Well, an easy way is to use the direct connect. I do not know the ip address but I am sure someone here can supply it.

ONCE AGAIN THIS IS NOT THE CORRECT ISP ADDRESS! You must use whatever is correct for this server,lol.

There's also a walkthrough in some other topic on the forum, that shows you how to set up a direct connect icon on your desktop that'll make it connect to the DNS, not the changing IP.

Ok, I tried that but it is still not working for me.

What is it I need to type exactly after +connection ?

'lotn.info:5121' ?
'lotn.info:3121' ?
'nwn.lotn.info:3121' ?
'nwn.lotn.info:5121' ?

Agh! It was indeed the 4th. The one I didn't try... :roll:

Since 5121 is the default port, that's not even really necessary. Just nwn.lotn.info should get you in. Plain lotn.info used to work, because the web server and game server were the same thing, a matter of some annoyance for those looking to goof off on the forums during server outages.
