Posters emerge within the city walls posted on most cork boards and public areas " Coming Soon -Lock and Key Securities-" *the posters are pinned up by a small halfling draped in dapper attire*.

* Located in the seedier places in the docks and near the sewers a tarot card is found and a inscription is found underneath*- "Fast, reliable service offered to those that have the desire, and coin. Leave word for the Swan."

A small tremor shook the Neverwinter Wood yesterday.  Regulars at the encampment put it down to the volcano stirring and may be a warning of a more violent eruption to come.  Those who went to drink from the healing fountain found the facing had been cracked and a stronger tumble of water had begun to flow through the breach in the rock face.  The fountain basin has thankfully compensated for the increase in water flow but it has reignited the question on where exactly the water comes from.

A Neverwinter guard was found slain outside the northern gate, his throat cut open, and only a few hours after his supposed time of death two Port Llast guards were slain, and two other chased away a black-cloaked man with symbols of Cyric covering his back and his shield. The two guards who returned after losing the man in the shadows of the night, somewhere down the high road, said that he was a very fast combatant, wielding a short blade.

A traveler reported to have seen the man within the Neverwinter Woods, but no other sources can confirm this.

Another blow to the local men in blue as a Port Llast guard was found unconscious alongside an equality lucid Silas, the local bartender at the Jack & Saber.  Originally it was thought the dwarven barkeep had picked a fight, as he often does, with the guard but once they regained consciousness it was revealed both men were disabled by a group of ruffians with no less than 5 men who had previously ransacked the tavern.

The tavern remains closed to business until repairs are complete.

Port Llast is currently offering a 5000gold reward to the apprehension of the ruffian leader Jon who wears dark spiked leather armor and packs a mean left-handed hook.

A commotion could be seen out side of the Jack & Saber, as tavern patrons attempted to explain the source of a cacaphony of loud bangs, heard shortly after midnight. One tavern patron was even startled by mysterious poundings arond the outhouse. Stories range from treants or giants and even to Umberlee herself, and everything inbetween. Sea worms were also a suggested culprit.

Travelers along the Blackford Road may note an increased Luskan presence.. patrols walk a little farther and a little more often within range of their city. They question all travelers about their business and detain any suspicious individuals that may know about a recent unknown person or persons that entered and left Luskan by unauthorized means.

Today the citizens of Neverwinter city was met with an unexpected entertainer. A certain famous flamewielder and ally of the city put on a fiery show for the passing masses. Illusory specters of flames and soaring sparks danced about the market and harmlessly passed through the at first startled commoners, but soon the masses cheered at the display of flamecraft.

Andarion was eventually asked to dispatch, so to not block traffic, but the guardsmen had seemed to enjoy the show as much as the crowd.

Travellers who stop at the Wolf's Wineskin find that there is little room to spare. The inn rooms and much of the main room are crowded with cots and supplies, as well as displaced Neverwintans. Those seeking shelter can also find meals at regular hours, as Vicki doesn't seem to have trouble finding volunteers in the kitchen.

Luskan Monastery Nears Completion
Construction work continues on the House of the Amber Hell, a new priory in the northern quarter of Luskan.  The priory will house a new chapter of the Disciples of the White Rod and is being funded and overseen by Marrelina Starker, a locally renowned nun of that faith who shall serve as the chapter's prioress and Mother Tormentor upon the priory's completion.  The monastic order, widespread throughout the realms, is headquartered in Calimport of Calimshan, where the order's namesake relic — the White Rod of Loviatar — is kept and zealously guarded.

Mother Starker is currently accepting submissions for initiation into the monastic order, and applicants of any age, any race and either sex shall be considered (though written parental consent will be needed for novices of prepubescent age).  Novices of the White Rod shall be provided with quarters, food and basic necessities yet shall not be permitted to leave the priory during the initial year of basic training and initiation into the order.  The House of the Amber Hell shall also provide various other services to the people of Luskan, including a winery, training on interrogation techniques for Luskan's watchmen, maintenance of the Prisoners' Carnival and a public shrine to Loviatar, Goddess of Suffering.

Although the Disciples of the White Rod and the Church of Loviatar are two separate bodies who happen to serve the same deity, Mother Starker has publicly pledged her support for Loviatar's church in Neverwinter and hopes that relations between the two holy houses shall further cement relations between Luskan and Neverwinter as well.  She has also pledged her aid to the House of Pleasure and Pain in continuing the hunt for Lia Moonshadow, who remains wanted for the crimes of criminal conspiracy, insurrection and destruction of a house of worship.  Mother Starker also wishes to add that, "If the Defiler wishes to ravage the House of the Amber Hell, then she is welcome to come here and try.  But know that I have no pleasure to offer her, only pain."

Demon Fever Stalks Neverwinter
Several Neverwintan commonfolk have recently been struck low by an unknown assailant armed with a bladed implement and a pestilence.  The victims, scattered from Neverwinter's core to the docks, exhibited a single slash wound across their bellies as well as the symptoms of what may be Demon Fever, a virulent supernatural disease which causes a wasting of the thews and decay of the vital humours.  A strong, oily venom not unlike that of several varieties of large spiders was milked from the corpses of two of those victims as well.  The authorities of Neverwinter are seeking counsel from the clergies of Ilmater the Broken God or of the death gods Kelemvor and Jergal in determining whether these fatalities were caused by the festering disease or by the wounds themselves.

The murderer's motives remain unknown, but servants of Talona — Goddess of Poison and Pestilence — may have a hand in this foul play.  Citizens of Neverwinter are reminded that all suspicious activity is to be reported to the city watch immediately.  A reward shall be offered for the capture and prosecution of this plaguebearer; speak with any Captain of the Watch for details.
