Oh, thought you were using the uni, not the dial-up. Sometimes, providers just lose connection with others for a time, buuuuuut... Let's try the usual fare.
Thing 1:
Open Internet Explorer. Tools menu, Internet Options, General tab. In the middle is Delete Cookies and Delete Files. Push both. This probably won't help, but its a good fix for lots of other internet problems, and is always worth doing when it gets flakey.
Thing 2:
Start Menu, Run, the "cmd", hit OK. At the command prompt, type "ipconfig /flushdns".
Now that the basic rinse is done, do a "ping lotn.info", and get the IP address. Now, try a direct connect with that. If ping works, but direct connect doesn't, we have a better idea where to focus our efforts.
