*Sigh* Alright, one for the techies.
« on: November 10, 2006, 10:33:59 PM »
Lately my computer has just been utterly crapping out on me during graphics intensive games.

Today, I turned my computer on, and I got a single, short forlorn beep, and failed the POST test.

Then, I tried again, and Windows loaded, but had no graphics.

I shut down (properly, ctrl+escape then U) and tried again, crossing my fingers... and everything loaded up.

My question: Running a Dell Dimension 4700, does anyone know what the single short beep on my failed POST test indicates, and can anyone think of any reason for my graphics card to be failing to put out signal besides the painful possibility that it's dying? (I have all the most up to date drivers from both windows and ATI, and it's a Radeon X600 256 megabyte PCI-E).

ANY help is greatly appreciated.

erm... make sure the graphic card is properly installed in it's place, and that it's snug and call dell.
