Player's Corner / Re: wiz guild??« on: December 12, 2016, 08:51:12 AM »
What you're looking for is the Cloaktower, home of the Many-Starred Cloak that handles magical affairs for Neverwinter. They're in the Blacklake district of Neverwinter city, behind the glowing mage statue.

General Discussion / NWN1 Diamond Edition free on GOG« on: December 01, 2016, 03:38:26 PM »
Yes, yes, I know, it's to promote their current winter sale on GOG, but damn it it's one of the only ways to even get NWN1 and NWN2 these days. So, if you know anyone that doesn't own the game but still wants to try it, now's the time to claim it for their GOG library. The offer is valid until December 3rd, 10:59 AM UTC.
https://www.gog.com/ You still need to message support to request a CD Key, however, if you don't have one already. 34
Player's Corner / Re: "By your powers combined, I am Captain Nasher!"« on: November 23, 2016, 12:19:34 AM »
1: I think one of the items are missing from the loot table. I do remember one player getting all four pieces at one point, though.
2: When said player got all 4 items, the answer was, "No". The problem is that the items were only scripted to work in one of the OCs (Hordes of the Underdark I believe). Still, I might have to look into testing this... 35
Player's Corner / Re: NWNCX« on: May 21, 2016, 07:26:50 AM »
I have been using NWNCX for several years now. Unfortunately, unless you're using it to remove the camera limits or remove weapon visuals, the only use is removing its attempt to communicate with the Master Server upon first log in. The multiplayer server listing still depended upon some Gamespy tech that was also, unfortunately, taken down and rendered it moot. You still need to use Direct Connect along with a service like NWNList to reach a server.

Bug Reports / Traps in the woods: WAY too strong.« on: March 29, 2016, 04:25:33 PM »
We all know the dreaded electrical trap: High damage, easily kills off an unsuspecting player. However, I feel that the traps are far too strong for what they should be, especially for regions meant for levels 2 - 5.
And they're not just electric traps. ![]() This nasty bugger was in the Neverwinter Wood - South, on a small bag in the SW corner of the area, killing a Rogue 2 / Bard 4 character for almost twice her health. On top of that, only a barbarian with 14 CON (or 12 + Toughness) and full hit points would be able to survive a hit like that. So... what kind of trap is that? DC 26, capable of doing 92 fire damage? According to this page, that's... a deadly fire trap. 25d6 fire damage, DC 26. What the heck is that doing in a region geared for new players?! Can someone take a look at what creates the traps on these loot containers? I feel this was definitely not meant to be encountered for low-leveled players. 37
Player's Corner / Re: Player-Character Housing« on: March 29, 2016, 03:46:46 AM »We recently modified the rule to allow two houses per player, actually, since our active playerbase is currently quite low. Don't worry, you won't clutter up the server. We're also happy for you to give us directions as to where to insert a new transition to your house, if necessary. Just make sure it's not in an idiotic place. Whoa, when and where was this? You mean I could have made the Raynsford Estate all this time?! Or Lyanna's magic mansion?! Brb, booting up the toolset. 38
General Discussion / Re: Screenshots and Love« on: March 29, 2016, 03:43:15 AM »lmao, Niccolo isn't supposed to even be there. Someone must have attacked him to lure him over or something. Or cheated and DM ported him there. *looks suspiciously at the other DMs* Actually, he DOES go to that area sometimes. I've seen it several times already, and I swear no DM intervention was involved. ![]() 39
Player's Corner / Re: Perudo's Stew« on: March 20, 2016, 03:44:59 PM »I know the answer, but I'm afraid I'm not allowed to tell you.As a DM on the server, I should be made privvy to this detail. It could be of vital importance, just like the rocks being counted in the safe haven! Oh god, what have you done, Wids?! You're going to throw the fragile ecosystem into chaos, and possibly introduce that vile Talonan taint into the stew! 40
General Discussion / Re: Gnomes!« on: March 19, 2016, 07:00:11 PM »
I've got several halflings that could be part of this Team Short, as mentioned earlier in the thread! Take your pick: Monk, Fighter/Rogue, Wizard enchanter, and Bastard Sword Weapon Master.
No gnomes, sadly. I've been more for halflings anyway. The dwarves I have get access to plenty of water. You just need to know how to divert some water from the river and not overflow the home fortress in the process. ![]() 41
Player's Corner / Re: Player-Character Housing« on: March 15, 2016, 06:43:15 PM »I don't recall seeing any apartments in Neverwinter, but I'll look around a bit more. And where's Daisy's Bed and Muffin, anyway? The apartments is actually a large player house, which was shared between Shanra, Haley, and Shades' character "X". That one would be most difficult to justify selling, sadly, but maybe a new one could be made. ![]() Daisy's Bed and Muffin is located on the small island in southern Port Llast, reachable by using the row boat. It's more of an inn, run by Daisy the halfling traveler. There was the idea of simply making it an accessible inn, too. Oh, another possibly important question: Is it one house per character or one house per account? Because I have quite a few characters on this account, and I'd hate to eventually become a "housing hog."The current rule is one house per player. Debatable at this point considering the population, but we don't want to clutter the server with too many private locations. I'd ask the others before trying to get more than one place. 42

Player's Corner / Re: Player-Character Housing« on: March 15, 2016, 03:17:59 PM »1) Is there any list of all the housing units in the server world, available or occupied? Not an official list, but just about every player house begins with "Player House - ", so putting together a list isn't too hard. Over a year ago, I did put together a list of housing that would be considered 'abandoned' since the players don't come around anymore, for the sake of pruning which can be found here. These housings actually have not been removed and are still in the module. Just need a key. 2) What would their sale prices be?I'm unsure about making each house purchasable without modifications, but I'd imagine the pricing would still be the same as listed here. I'd even put a discount on them since they're not being built, but that's something we'll have to negotiate. 3) Are there any periodic rent dues, minimum log-in frequency requisites or other conditions of continued occupancy?Nope to all of that! Unless we decide to do some pruning, the housing will stay. If it is pruned and you want it back, just send a copy if we don't have one and we'll work it out. 4) Wasn't there some feature in the OOC entrance which would take a character directly to his or her home instead of to the Camp, Neverwinter or Mirabar, or am I mistaken?Yup! The portal in the OOC area by the merchant is designed so that if a player has a key to a particular guild or player house, you can warp there as your starting point instead of the usual three available. We'll just work it into the dialogue. Thank you. You're welcome! If you want, I'll put together a more comprehensive list and/or provide a tour. 44
General Discussion / Re: Can You Survive One Hour of "Diggy Diggy Hole"?« on: March 03, 2016, 04:51:03 PM »Well, you've proved that you're made of sterner stuff than I am! I admit that I played it more as background noise than anything. I was about ready to quit after 20 minutes. I guess the trick is to not focus on it. ![]() Now if there was a 10-hour version (and there probably is)... I'd probably give up before even trying. 45

Made it the whole hour. Oh dear lord, what harm has come to my sanity? I think I better blare some metal or something to get it to stop.
Please, no, not the funny farm! |
