General Discussion / What the heck happened to Joc?
« on: May 06, 2011, 03:56:29 AM »
So, i admit, i guess i kinda just wordlessly disappeared. I never meant to, but i kept saying to myself "Yeah, i don't need to say i'm gone, i'll log on again this weekend." But err... as you can see that never happened. So i figured i should stop in and say hello, and let you know what i'm doing, and say that because of certain malfunctions i might be a bit longer gone.

First of all, thank you for all the happy birthday well-wishing. It wasn't though, for the Record. Much of a happy birthday that is. I nearly got hit by a car, i baked cookies and dropped them in dirt, and i couldn't sleep in because apparently a robot called my brother an asshole. I'm not shaken up about it, i don't make a big deal out of birthdays anyway.  :)

But that's beside the point. Don't worry about that.

So anyway, lately i've transitioned somewhat away from my usual screen-zombie self and been getting a bit more intake from the place outside the front door. I'm currently involved with a project called Green Corps. I might have mentioned this before i left, i joked about taking class levels in ranger. Its not Actually rangering, but the people i do it with are a great bunch and its been fun times. Its fulfilling, but tiring, which is most of the reason i started logging in less.

Since it doesn't pay well, i've been stopping by the local pub like a woodpecker to try and get a spot behind the bar later in the afternoons. I've had a few stints of a couple of days but so far i haven't been picked for more substantial employment. It seems promising though.

In addition to that, i'm also in a theatre group that does plays about not binge drinking. Hows that, a Bartender and an anti-binge-drinking spokesman? I'm such an Oxymoron. But yeah, that's taking up another chunk of my days too, and we have performances in schools over the next two months, so its a little intense now. Fun intense though, i live for the stage. I don't even get a whisper of stage fright anymore.

And as for the Malfunctions, well, they might take a while to get around. What little money i get from Green Corps. goes towards maintaining some repayments i'd rather not talk about, so i'm living pretty humble. Unfortunately, (And i'm sorry Kattze!) the hard drive on my laptop failed. I got it a new one, but its been installed with Windows 7 and its got some compatibility error with the drivers that i can't work out. It doesn't do sound, and the graphics don't go right. I get a frame rate drop playing "Plants vs Zombies" even. As for me desktop, well... that's no better. Its nightmarishly slow, and i can't stand waiting for it to even start up. Its old, and certainly on its way out. So piece by piece i'm filling the piggybank to build something really shiney.

Anyway, that's my story lately. I'm sorry i didn't forewarn anyone. How are things for you guys?

Events / Server Party Saturday: The Prancing Badger!
« on: August 03, 2010, 05:53:42 AM »
Been a while since we did one of these, huh? But i figured a Hosting changeover is a good enough reason to break that silence :D

I'll be running a "Quiz-show" game with fun rewards, as well as anything else someone may think of. Vampire may happen, of anyone who remembers the rules attends. You are welcome to suggest your own games, of course

The times should be as follows, as worked out by http://www.timeanddate.com. They might not be completely accurate, but are my best grasp of global time >.<

Australia: Sun 10:00 AM
UK: Sun 1:00 AM *
United States: Sat 5:00 - 8:00 PM
Sweden: Sun 2:00 AM *

I think that's where the bulk of us come from. Do we have any players here from elsewhere in the world?

But i came close. My little town is all over national news after being declared as a natural Disaster zone. We got ripped up by a surprise tornado.

So yeah. My house was thankfully avoided by the storm and i still have power, but i might be gone a little longer.  :-\

So, as i've mentioned to most of you already, i should be more or less absent for the next 2 weeks at least. I try to keep it smacked down and tied up under the stairs, but occasionally Life escapes and wreaks havoc :P. I think i should be back after a fortnight, but it could stretch to the end of May or later.

Most of the loose ends to my quests should be wound up now, but i could still maybe manage time on Sundays if i am needed for something. So yeah, you guys will have to do without me for just a little while. Have fun, i'll see you all again soon.

Events / Calling all rogues' guild
« on: April 18, 2010, 12:51:34 AM »
Whispers in the damp halls of the Neverwinter guild of thieves speak of a big job coming up. The word is, a client has asked for the acquiring of a Ring of Three Wishes. Only one is known of, and it is on its final wish. The signing sheet hangs in the rogues guild Meeting hall, noting the time to muster.

The OOC stuff

Ok, so i've taken a while trying to work out a convenient time for everyone. I think this is accurate, but i've been wrong before. Let me know how this fits. Obviously in a global community, not everyone will fit though :(

U.K. Time: Approx. 7pm Saturday April 24th

U.S Time: Approx. 12-3pm(West-east i think?) Saturday April 24th

Sweden Time: Approx 9pm Saturday April 24th

Australia Time: Approx. 4am Sunday April 25th

If you're at a completely different location to any of these, or if these are bad times for anyone who's really really eager for this, then give me a prod.

The streets of Neverwinter are alive with talk of a miracle. Armon Cove stands now as a ghost down of Shacks, falling down with the wind. This is because the people that were there have returned to Neverwinter, cleansed of their curse. An ear on the streets hears stories of purple fire, cauldrons of blood, and two sorceresses. A white haired and black haired one. The Rumors have so many different tellings, of personal experiences and holy underlines, but these are the facts that remain constant.

Apologies to those who i have quests happening with, but i will be more or less unavailable for the next few days, and as you may have noticed, the last few. I have some rehearsals and job-related things happening, as well as Easter and some unexpected tickets to the Byron Bay Bluesfest (Which isn't in byron bay. wtf is up with that? :P). I will be back soon, but i'll have to put a hold on a few things.

Thank you for your patience, and sorry for my lame reasons  :D

What i thought wasn't much has snowballed into a more significant state of ill health. Doing DM stuff takes a clearer head than i have right now, so i'm sorry to have to say that i might have to put off any of the stuff i am doing for a few days while i recover enough. I know everyone is probably itching for closure by now, but i'd rather not mess it all up for you. Thanks for your patience.

News / Quarantined again...
« on: February 20, 2010, 10:57:11 PM »

In a night of chaos and confusion, the gates of the beggar's nest of Neverwinter city were pulled closed and locked. The guards have tried to stop everyone being alarmed, but the newspapers got wind of the event, and have released an issue that brought fear and unrest to the rest of the city...

Shortly after, Lord Orrick sent in a team to investigate the situation. They discovered the head of a vampire in a well used water supply. The disease coursing through the beggars nest is a form of lesser Vampirism. Heated debates are flaring over whether or not to consider the people to be human anymore.

Bug Reports / I looted my own corpse.
« on: January 26, 2010, 09:45:06 AM »
As the title suggests, something went wrong in however the death system works. It might have just been a one shot glitch, but i thought i'd speak up about it anyway. I died fighting Lions on Lipalli, then i respawned and ran the pigs for gold while the XP penalty wore off. When i came back around to the cats, I found a "Remains" that had my character's first name in the description. It contained a double of the armour i was wearing, but nothing else. I held onto it, unsure what to do with it.

Bug Reports / True seeing comes at a price.
« on: October 11, 2009, 11:10:03 AM »
I've been noticing an annoying bug that i think is because of true seeing. When the spell duration expires, it makes anything more than a few feet away invisible, and enemies get sneak attacks even if i'm facing them. Its like I;m under the effect of blindness, but it doesn't show up in the effects bar across the top.

Events / Age of the Orc
« on: September 13, 2009, 10:10:43 AM »
Drums Echo in the mountains and the forests. Outlying homes have been found burned, their inhabitants dead and defiled. The Watchmen of Neverwinter and Port Llast implore everyone to remain within the towns defenses, and One word echoes throughout the Lands.

GRUUMSH!

Anyone who would ingnore these signs and warnings is told to Prepare to meet the iron fist of the orc.

------------------------------------------------------

Ok so for the next two weeks i'm going to be taking time out of my classes to bring you as much unexpected chaos and questing as i can. Sort of like Sakes' questapolousa if you remember that, only i'll be taking breaks to sleep and clear my head occasionally ;).

So to everyone who's going to be there, bring your sharpest sword and your stoutest heart. You'll need them.
