Player's Corner / Greengrass and Calendars, Oh My!
« on: February 08, 2008, 12:58:31 PM »
Now that the FR Calendar has been put into the gears, and I obtained a full calendar - a question came to mind. The month we are currently in at LotN is Tarsakh, and during this month our lovely Greengrass is held (though the dates on the holidays are unknown to me, I only know the month they are in).

So, my question is - are we going to have Greengrass sometime in the near future before the month of Tarsakh goes away in game, or are we going to wait until our usual time of celebrating it later in the year RL?

Story Board / Fragments of Sorrow
« on: April 22, 2007, 07:13:24 AM »
A thick leather bound journal, having no markings in the slightest decorating themselves on the obsidian black leather. Only a single, seemingly unbreakable stained glass circle ordains itself upon the front of the journal. The stained glass being finely detailed; a thin border of cerulean blue and cloud white bars round themselves about the edge, the background rippling and colored a deep blue as the ocean, and in the center - a bright green luna moth. Upon opening, the first page of finely aged vellum, there lies but a single phrase. It reads, “Beannú na déithe’s n’aindhéithe ort.”

Through the many filled pages, folding from recent use brings it to the newly written words…

"I…I need to write down the entire events. If I am to take one step further in keeping the seams of my mind together, I...I must write this. Oh Roscoe, my dear brother Roscoe, how could I have been so careless in my goal to find Master Quinn? Even though he has been missing for over six months now, I should not have been so utterly careless and unthinking when I finally found a lead. Oh Roscoe, please forgive me...

I was at the Prancing Badger, having followed Me’uranu and Marah. I did not know the problem at the current moment, but I now found Marah was stricken with a severe case of amnesia at the time. I am only glad that she has started to regain her memory…Only a few short moments had passed, when the single knell that a fellow student of my master’s used to signal me drowned out all of the thoughts that were racing through my mind as it echoed within my skull. Just at the moment of the signal, Me’uranu, walked over to me. From what I can assume, he was to buy something from the barkeep, or to ask me to join them at the table. Since I was sitting at a distance, I suppose it seemed as if I was trying to avoid them rather than go and converse with them. Though in this case I was. I apologized to Ura for leaving abruptly, and proceeded in casting a Plane Shift spell – a bright shimmering light surrounding me, then dissipating with myself moving through the Great Wheel, which seemingly takes a good while even though for time it is instantaneous, to the Concordant Domain of the Outlands. Here once again, I went onward to the usual Portal Town of Sylvania that borders with the plane of Arborea and meet with the fellow student of my master, and good friend – Lyle, at the Woodlands Glade tavern.

Oh how I do hate traveling the planes. They have so much to offer, but yet the planes are as much a hindrance and problem as they are a beauty to behold and an aid of many sorts. But then again, things such as the Spire in the Outlands always do catch my eye of interest from its mysterious effects of canceling out the most powerful mage’s magic, or even that of every deity’s…Heh, off I go again in another rant. I should stop myself on it before it turns into its own little tale…I suppose my mind isn’t as frayed as I thought it was from all of this.

As usual, Lyle was pacing back and forth in a room mumbling to himself about how I am ‘ever so late’ and ‘never on time, even for the gods’...hmh. He was, and forever will be I assume, an impatient person; though that I suppose is not a bad quality for all. We gave our hellos and idle chatter, and then soon after I learned of the information of what would lead to my brother’s…sadly fated death.

Lyle himself was good at finding out who had the information you needed, but never at finding out the exact information. He seemed to always have a knack for it; I suppose everyone has his or her gifts. However…-this- information, I could have lived without. Varlontiok…that conniving excuse of a devil, Lyle learned, had information on my Master Quinn’s last whereabouts. Even though I myself –mostly- despise the fact of having to consort with devils, my master did not as much. He dealt with Varlontiok…many a time as I do admit. When he needed his assistance, it was just yet another favor he would go out and do, and it was for his last favor, that he has hence gone missing. I would have tried countless attempts to smite him, if I knew I had the power to face his own…perhaps one day.

After much profanities of which I do not wish to violate my journal with, I calmed down for a short period in time, in which Lyle took the opportunity to offer me a drink to settle my now more so stressed nerves. I accepted, since this would be the last day of the month I would be able to meet with him before I headed onward to my unsavory dealings. Lyle himself would never deal with devils in the slightest, by that I am gladdened greatly so. But I would do anything to obtain information of where Master Quinn might be located; even if it meant dealing with Varlontiok…again."

((First time writing. Hopefully I'll get the other two parts to this written and posted soon. For now, I hope this was fair >.>...Oh right, and the phrase reads in Druidic {obtained from an online dictionary place} 'the blessings of the gods and the non-gods upon you'))

Bug Reports / Gylph of Warding isn't that warding.
« on: March 31, 2007, 02:37:16 PM »
Don't know if it's already known, but I was using Gylph of Warding last night, and found that when it is triggered (by someone or something going through it) it poofs just fine, but no damage is ever done. No save, no damage, it just does it's neat little effects and sounds. Not sure why it doesn't do the damage it states it does..which I've seen it work many times just fine, but now it's not working.

*shrug* Well, hope there's a way to fix it, it be my favorite spell >.>. If not, hopefully there's a reason as to why it's not working correctly.

General Discussion / Minor (hopefully) Problem
« on: December 18, 2006, 08:08:46 PM »
Just to note, so it doesn't look like i've disappeared for however long - since about Thursday of last week my phone line has been down. The phone guy that came a couple months ago to fix a previous problem and any others that might be present but missed a key one it seems. Under the house there's a bit of my phone line to my room that is exposed and no protective whatchamacall it stuffs around it and now it has rusted through and broken finally from the current weather, animals, etc.

So - until the repair persons can come and fix it, -or- my mother decides to get the broadband internet that has recently became available, I will be without internet. Anyways, just making a note, see ya'll around  :)

Player Requests / Brownies!
« on: September 23, 2006, 09:53:58 PM »
Don't know if this has ever been brought up or not, so yea. Wondering if it would be allowed to have Brownies as a player race. Would be a halfling sub-race i'm guessing, and obviously a requested one since you'd have to be brownie-sized by Leto. Just a suggestioin to throw out there, I think it would be nice to see some Brownies here and there, and seeing as it would be a requested sub-race, you wouldn't have an invasion of little people(as cool as that might be  :P ).

So anyway, just tossing this bit of two cents out there, might/might not happen. But I guess it doesn't hurt to ask.  :)

Information / The Map of Faerun, Toril
« on: August 27, 2006, 01:31:24 AM »
For anyone who ever needed or wished to see it, I've found a very detailed map(and when i say detailed, it's got everything down to the place where a halfling dropped a gold sewing needle). Now it -is- a bit crowded only because it's got everything listed, not to mention it's ---huge!---, but it's a great map. Enjoy. (forgot to actually list the site at first >.>)
