I'm curious what y'all think about NWN2. I'm enjoying the story, and the graphics look pretty nice on my system, but the various bugs and glitches are damned annoying from time to time.
Overall, I give it a thumbs up.
What's your opinion?
-
Where is the "It's the new NWN" choice?
-
There isn't one, because it isn't! Muahahaha!
-
I'll tell you when I manage to tweak it enough to make it playable in my piece of crap comp... >.<
-
I said it was all right. It has potential when the community can get it fixed. I say that because I guess when I think of NWN (1 or 2), I think of the multiplayer, as I never played the OC in the first one beyond chapter 2.
I'm still level 7 in NWN2, but I tell myself I'm just waiting awhile, then I'll play through the rest of it. :)

nah you are like most of us... still stuck on nwn 1 and hopin that just maybe nwn 2 will compare some what. i made it to level 5 and fort locke then said the hell with it and couldn't be bothered, i do'nt want to play this game all by myself, that is what makes it boring for me... if i could play with a few of my friends and actually be THE ROGUE then maybe i would be happy... as you can tell i don't like neeshka -at all- i tired to play cleric but gave up after level two... so i stopped playing all together... i think the plot and story are pretty neat and such from what i have played, but i do hope that with it being such a young game that it actually improves with age like... nwn1 did.

I like it, I think its alright. 1.03 brings promise of fixing some of the annoying bugs that the OC has, among other things, and also making it run better.
I have a rogue/duelist whose level 9, somewhere in the middle of act 2, but I haven't played in a week and a half or so. I prefer playing with people.
I don't mind Neeshka much, as the conversations between the group with her in it can be quite amusing, but since my char has several rogue levels, I haven't had a reason to take her a long. One rogue is good enough.
I prefer to play with others though. :) I didn't finish NWN1 OCs (still never did SoU) until this summer.

I installed it, played it for a bit, and then removed it from my system. I can run it fine, but it is just too eww. I find it awkward and clunky. For the hardware demands, it is visually unimpressive. Honestly glad I hadn't put out the money for it yet and borrowed a friend's copy <.<
In any case, I can see why perhaps people might like it, but it is not what I wanted of it at all. Likely won't see it on my system again.

They are making a lot of improvements. The 1.03 patch is supposed to fix a lot of things. I think it will get better after a time, just like nwn1 was. NWN1 was better at launch than NWN2 was, but many of the nice features nowadays were added at later dates than release of NWN1. So...just give it a bit of time. NWN2 will certainly ship up I think.

It'd better! They've got to at least get Many Shot doing something. I mean, not only is it a common ranged attack feat, but it's a class-skill for 50% of all rangers. Get those core-classes working!

I personally found it to be one of the best cRPG's I've played in years. I'd actually place it within my top 10 list of cRPGs. But then again, I loved KoToR 1 & 2 (yes, I even liked 2's story and ending!) as well - and this is much like them.
I loved the story, I love the look of things, and I love the UI.
It runs beautifully on my computer (except for the swamp areas, they run pretty crappy) - and I'm able to have most of the eye-candy turned on, and stylisticly I enjoy it.
Does it have bugs? Yes. Does it have bugs that I find gameplay breaking? No. Was NWN even buggier when it first came out? Gods yes!
But hey - whatever.
-
My copy no longer runs, all the conversations have vanished and I cant be arsed reinstalling it for the millionth time to fix it.
Still it makes a good beermat. Infact its a better beermat than it is a game. The next update/patch better be f*cking good.

The new patch didn't let me down.
"Disc can not be authenticated"
Obsidian FTW.

I finally have access to a comp that will let me play it at full blast, took me a bit to get adjusted to the interface and all, but I like to take it slow and easy. Granted I'm only level 4 and I've barely started messing with it, it didn't really hook me though, at least I remember that NWN 1 wouldn't let me pry myself from the screen for hours on end. I played NWN 2 for a while, I've to admit that F.E.A.R. has my attention at the moment, that and training in NFS so I beat my cousin's butt when he comes by for Christmas :P

Which Need For Speed?
-
wooh my first comment for months.
Ok love the story, love running through the stronghold with my pet construct... sorry if i ahve spoilers in this.
My pet spider made me a nice cloak, it's wonderful
even with a radeon 9800 xt i can run everything on high and it like woah.
Crafting a heaps better then the original. being a level 19 paladin in chapter 3 really helps against those undead. Bards are awesome too!
Character creation is pretty different the the ogirinal too, with the choice of face and hair along with having facial hair or not.
It's marvelous.
Might go back to my paladin/neverwinter nine character and kill... things... WOOT!

Which Need For Speed?
Carbon now, with all it's drifting, wingmen and the like.
-
Oooh, Carbon, I have that.
-
I recently played through it on a caster. There are bugs to work out with familiars and resting from what I've seen, and some commands are a little awkward. I'm sure a lot of it will work out and take some getting used to when PWs get out.
The spell scripts are horrid. They copy/pasted from NWN1...
As for the actual campaign, it was a little easy (a large part due to crafting, also due to mobs' easily abusable will saves), but I thought the story was pretty interesting. The ending sucked, though.
