I've run a rogue up to level 10 and have been investing skill points into removing traps the entire way. Until I got a +4 remove traps item I was unable to remove a single trap aside from a couple old traps. Not only that but I generally can not even spot them (another skill I'm fully invested in).

It seems the dificulty on traps is way points too high. It's been rather frustrating trying to use my skill.. and constantly getting burned/poked/frozen/shocked or causing others to be. And alrthough it's made for some light RP about how inept my character is (which he's not) it really not fun at all.

I'm really glad I did not invest in setting traps because I can't see EVER removing one. I was planning on posting some stats on the DCs but for some reason I've only seen the server once in like 18 hours, and then I timed out after 2 minutes.

Has anyone else confronted this issue?

For those that don't remember my time with the staff I do not run quests. Though I may try to run some action quests after I push through a building project that should make a lot of you very happy.

My main goal is to work on the server to add new areas, or make old ones better. Hopefully with some help we can make the server fun at every level.

Huge thanks to everyone who made it to Wintertide!

Especially to Chy, Tsu and Daisy for the many hours of work it took to set everything up, and make it run. Much of the work was done last minute, and the sense of teamwork made it a holiday for me.

Saddly due to a file transfer error the area Chy worked on so hard did not make it on to the server due to us trying to stick to schedule, but she went all out at the last second to get an area put together on the fly.

The idea of the gift store was a last minute, and huge thanks to Tsu for going through all the hours of grief that go into adding a store on LotN (it's a big mod), and taking the time to push the project through. Considering that he, Daisy, and I  brainstormed it to life in under 24 hours, doing most of the work an hour before it went live, was a feat in itself.

The best bart of all was knowing that if I stumbled there were three DMs ready to catch my fall. That was a probably the best thing I've ever felt in my time on the staff.

BUT the biggest thanks goes out to all the players who made it. You guys are awesome, and had me in stiches quite a few times. There was a lot of solid RP, if sedate, and it really felt real because, damnit it was just like a party where not everybody knew everybody!

Thanks to you who wore the Wintertide colors. It was cool to note that the characters who did not wear them really fit with their character. (And an appology to the player I hijacked into Wintertide gear by crafting his Robes of Vecna, and dropping in camp. Hopefully it was taken it the light vein it was intended.)

I hope you all had fun. Little break from the same old thing. Next year we'll not be doing everything last minute, learn from our mistakes, and use all the great last minute ideas we did not have time to enact.
