Anyone know what this is about? Looks like an entire movie made through NWN. Happened across it when looking around online. First damn thing i've heard about it.

Its pretty cheesy, but i found it interesting that its movie-length long with custom animations and all that. I've only gotten 2mins into it, no idea if i'll keep watching.

General Discussion / Warhammer Online

I've not played Warhammer in a very long time, but i enjoyed it when i did... Not sure we have many fans here, but they're making an MMORPG which is due next year at some point. I've subsribed myself to their mailing list so i'll probably not be checking back 'til its down - couldn't pass up showing the sweet trailer they have for it, though.

A sad loss, really lost for words on this one, wish i had met him just once - his books were more than well-told stories, of massacres and romance, they were guidances that could take you through through rough times and gave a person morales and principles they could admire and follow.

Never thought i'd shed a tear over a person i'd never met, heh.

Player's Corner / ULA Fortress

Quote from: "Chyelle"
I will not read the posts above, I will not listen to people say they would have.. or they wanted to but werent supported by DMs... this is an RP server. RP.

If you -had- read the above posts, you would see there was not one mention of people not getting the support - infact, i agree the areas are a waste of space these days, the major failure was communication, and yous obviously made no attempt whatsoever as to inform anyone.

Now i would have no interest in continuing a locked thread, but for you to go and say all you did, assume this or that was said, without even reading it, then locking it so as we have no further input, is sheer arrogance and lacks any sort of responsibility - which yous do have as DM's - or consideration for others.

I've known for a long time the ULA would be destroyed, but i would have liked to have known that it happened - and yes, i WOULD have known, also. Caradus' house is 2 seconds from the fortress... And he passes it each day he goes onto the lines.

Personally, i would like an apology for this mess. Yous say it wasn't intentional that you overlooked the players still locked in this mess, but there is nothing at all to even back-up what you say. You only after went and said yourself that you didn't read our posts regarding the subject, whats to say you didn't have the same approach with the fortress? - "Lets not bother checking to see who's still around, just burn it down."

Let the ULA die, their time has been and gone, but there is a way of destroying them with some tact.

Player's Corner / Starting area
« on: June 18, 2006, 06:57:51 PM »
This isn't an official poll or anything, but just something i'm curious of as a builder - so i would appreciate some input nonetheless guys. :)

Does any of our older players recall our last starting area, the exterior desert? - i've always been a big fan of it, even though it was rather bland, it still felt much more welcoming and homely with the lovely sun beating down on you and small oasis off to the side.

Our current starting area i find to be very well-made, but rather cold and more practical than anything. Not slandering the person that built it or anything, dont get me wrong, just never been a big fan of interior looks for a welcoming room, feels too trapped in.

Anyway, just wanted to get a general idea of what the playerbase thinks - input would be more than welcome. Again, this vote wont count for any changes to the starting area, its just my own curiousity that caused me to post this poll.

Thanks in advance for yer input.

Story Board / Under the Moonlight
« on: May 01, 2006, 01:25:47 AM »
Caradus stood alone on the hillside gazing up at the clear night sky, his handsome features - though wry with fatigue - dimly lit by the pale light cast by the full moon above him. He drew in a deep, refreshing breath as he watched the stars shining brightly above, mesmorized by the wonder of them all. He once was told they were nothing more then suns much like the one that rises each morning, only many thousands of miles away, others claimed they were the souls of fallen heroes, and that shooting stars were new heroes going to their place in the heavens - a pretty bedside tale for children, he thought to himself.

He arched his back, grunting faintly as the restriction of the heavy armour brought him discomfort in his fatigued state. Rubbing at his eyes in a vain attempt to awaken himself, he reflected over the past few months - the war was not going well. Rhydins return had lifted morale greatly for the first while, but then he had been struck by one illness after another - Caradus had begun to think this not mere coincidence, but even with his most trusted and loyal soldiers watching over the General and his food examined constantly, for fear he was being poisoned, there had still been no improvement. His state was improving not at all.

Field Marshal Dane had taken what was left of his division and returned to the fortress without a word, and he felt himself at a loss as his scouts returned with reports regarding the movements in the docks - they were packing to leave, there was no doubt of it. He groaned inwardly, what on Faerun is he doing?, he thought to himself, Doesn't he know we are still here?. It was likely, communication was rare now with the ever-watchful Banites swooping in on even our fastest scouts.

He had managed to have several of his men infiltrate the fortress and steal away a dozen or so wagons of supplies amongst all the chaos during the evacuation, he would need them soon, he knew. Supplies were severely low and they would not beable to hold these lines much longer if they were unequipped for the job - rations were being thinned out, old and spare cloths or blankets being torn apart to act as bandages, while strong whiskeys were now being used as pain killers as herbal supplies ran low - much to the enjoyment of the men, he recalled with a wry grin.

His thoughts were disturbed by a sudden rustling behind him. Moving forward quickly - instinctively - he dived and rolled on his shoulder, grunting as the shoulder plate was pushed into his neck. He came to his feet swiftly, both blades in-hand, the moonlight glinting majestically from their impossibly clean steel. As he focused his eyes on the treeline beyond, a shadowy figure emerged, stepping forward with a confidence Caradus would recognise anywhere. He paused short of the Field Marshal and offered a swift bow.

"Field Marshal, sir." He said, his voice barely above a whisper, yet with a confidence that cut through the considerable gap between the men. Pushing himself warily to his feet, Caradus stepped forward, ordering the man to be at ease.

"What is it, Karanos?" Said the Field Marshal, addressing the man by name now that his face was visible in the moonlight. The man had been a student of his from the beginning, disciplined and loyal unto death - he was one of the thirty-two left of his one hundred elite, personally trained men.

"Its Haleer, sir," He said. "He's returned from his task north - the Banites are moving on us now, under the cover of night." The Field Marshal obsorbed the information silently for a few moments, then nodded to the man who saluted and left as swiftly as he arrived. It wouldn't be long now before they forced themselves through the lines and put Port Llast down - permanently. Although tonight would not be that night.. Picking up his equipment, he made his way through the treelines where Karanos had disappeared through moments before.
