News / Luskan Trade Embargo Lifted!

Even despite tensions between the two regional powers the trade embargo against Luskan was lifted. Bradley stated that the benefits of a more open trade option between the two cities outweighs the potential risk. Comments from citizens in both cities are mixed but the open trading is much needed for both cities.

*OOC Note: Luskan is now open for travel from the Bloodsailors and the physical entrances on the road to Miribar.*

I'd set up a designated vent server for us! I'm running it from home so the max connections is at 8 but I dont think that will present a lot of problems and I'll get it sorted out in the long term but for now. The connection info is as follows.

Server: legacyofthenorth.dyndns.info
Password: thepassw0rd (cause I'm unoriginal like that)

The LotN room you are welcome to use at any time, for dungeon runs and what not. If you would like any additional rooms for other games just send me a request either through PM or IM and I'll have it up for you in a jiff.

If there is anything else you'd like from me, lemme know. I have some free time on my hands.

Thanks to the investigative work a few, a plot to burn the people of Neverwinter during the Spring Ball has been successfully averted. Two new heads adorn the pikes of Castle Never and lead a man known only as Ryder has been sentenced to twenty years in prison.

Technical Support / NWN and the Windows 8 Consumer Preview (AMD)

So I recently installed the Windows 8 consumer preview to test some things out. NWN will not work without some tweaking so here's the troubleshooting steps I went through.

I have it running in compatibility mode with XP SP3
In the nwnplayer.ini I have the CPU affinity set to 0 (for multi core computers)

The preview will also install proprietary drivers and this will cause NWN to run like crap. AMD has released to a driver set for the preview and I have linked it below:

http://www2.ati.com/drivers/hotfix/win8/amd_catalyst_win8_consumer_preview_[rc10].exe

So if you are going to install the preview this is what I did to make sure NWN ran like it did before. Let me know if you have any questions.

Alright so here's the deal. LOTN is looking for a new home, I'll be moving into a new place and hopefully will be getting a better connection. If I do this I will take over the hosting duties again on my own home machine, BUT only if there is enough interest. How many of you want this?

I apologize to all the players I've made previous engagements with as well as people I'd offered to train I still have all intentions of doing what I promised but real life has gotten in the way. I've taken a new job as a Network Administrator for the university I've been working for but I have been moved to a new schedule and it does not allow for a lot of play time. I can no longer DM or even see the login screen while at work. I'm still getting used to working at 7am instead of 10pm so the transition will take a while. I'm just letting you know that I intend to wrap up the quest I had planned and training I was planning. I'm just letting you know why things on LOTN have been placed on the back burner for a little bit. I just finished my first week and I'm a complete wreck. Thank you for your understanding about the matter.
