Bug Reports / Player-suggested NPC nerfs
« on: January 04, 2009, 01:18:40 PM »
So I wasn't sure where to post this.  But I figure this is as good a place as any that anyone can access to report mobs that need a nerfing to match the stealth changes.  Post'm if you see'um

The Trolls; perhaps a few other mobs in the Stillness Ruins (Karla's digs) need to to have their eyes poped with a nerf hammer.  BEFORE the item nerfs the pygmi-licking fart sniffers would sometimes spot my 25th level stealther, with a 14 dex mod; max ranks if I wasnt wearing a few stealth items.  Hate to try and sneak up on them now.

Bug Reports / Lesser ring of the crusader
« on: November 07, 2008, 10:36:32 AM »
So yeah.. the Lesser Ring of the Crusader in the church of Lanthadar's store has the following stats:

+2 ac deflect
+1 wis
light 5ft blue
Usuable by: Paladin
Usuable by: Wizard

PRETTY sure that last bit is a mistake. Even then, whats with the hating on the poor monks who might want one?

Bug Reports / A priest and a slave boy..
« on: November 06, 2008, 07:07:27 AM »
So yeah.. dunno why or how.. but the Slave Spawns in Badmoon are spawning naked.. but not all the time.  Only sometimes.  It'll switch back and forth during a run, sometimes you'll even spawn a naked one and a clothed one at the same time.

Kinda funny though.. When the first one I encountered came around the ben with a priest.. thought a DM was fooking with me.

Edit: This ended up in the wrong place.  Someone move it.   :x

Bug Reports / Missing spawns
« on: November 06, 2008, 03:53:37 AM »
So this may be intentional.. but its mildly disapointing if it were.  But the Entropic Chitine spawns have ceased to, well, spawn. Save the one that spawns in the boss area.

Technical Support / Vista and that silly CEP tlk file..
« on: November 02, 2008, 08:54:44 AM »
Roite!  So my buddy is trying to join our lovely little hole of truely bored individuals.  Cept his OS is vista.. and he's been having one issue after another.  He finally got nwn running (save that he can't skip any movies or it crashes  O.o).. and now there's just one thing holding him back from LotN.  A tlk file that even after installing CEP most folks still need to get.

When yer trying to log you're prompted you need a tlk file, my comp has it saved as:

centaurs_system_beta4_revised.7zip

Problem is though is vista won't recognize it; won't allow its install.. Any vista users out there gotten over this hump?

Dunno if anyone's ever posted this before.  But I find it pretty damn funny.  (Gets kinda graphic, fair warning)

Summer splace and the last 20 seconds of cimminmon roll are worth the watch too.  Quiet long time if you have an odd sence of humor.

Player's Corner / Gore.
« on: August 11, 2007, 02:52:12 AM »
Looking back on it, I realize I was wrong on this portion of the arguement.  Maybe I -did- go to far.  Gore is something I deal with every day, I train others to put caths in folks by sticking my self and pumping my arm allow -- okay, now see this is what I'm getting at.  What I was about to explain is everyday for me, but frankly, its made two people pass out who were in the class.  Blood; indeed gore of any kind is literaly just part of my job.  And I'm likely just to jaded to that fact to realize to others this isnt the case.

To me, cutting eyelids isnt that stomach churning.  Its something I've seen in person (not the act, but indeed the aftermath).  Emoting bleeding someone out is just.. literaly something I do.  Granted, not to torture them; but to save them.  Its something I'm trained to shrug off, I need to in order to perform the job I do.

And again, this isnt the case for everyone.  I'm sorry; it shouldent happen again.

General Discussion / Richard: Slaughter your world.

For those of you who don't read LFGcomic, this is still pretty damn funny.  I think this gets right down to the nitty-gritty, really lets you see the inner Richard.  Truely, it touched me.

Player's Corner / The next batch.
« on: July 02, 2007, 03:10:22 AM »
Been working on a new batch of custom items for the server's lewt drop.  Taking them mostly outa the Magic Item Compendium.. as well as a few randomly inspired items.

What I've been trying to do is create enough viriaty so that anyone's choice in armor or weapon may be valid.  For example, I've noticed an utter lack of AC5, armors worth having to most who -would- use them.  Granted, MOST players will either go right for AC 8 or 0; thats where most of them fall.  Just as most will go for bastard swords or katana's over a long sword due to the avalibility of either; obvious superiority.  Blah blah blah..

ANYWHO.. what i'm trying to get at here is I'm looking for some imput.  Any odd weapons and or specific magical items you'd like to see?  Maybe you've one already created in your head.. a dream item that would be sway to add to the lewt drops?  Maybe an item you've created base don server history

Post your vague ideas and/or possibly specific items here if you'd like me to attempt to convert it to LotN/nwn rules.  And yes, Talic.  Screaming Rapiers went in with the last batch.

Player's Corner / That which goes bumb in the night
« on: June 29, 2007, 12:31:19 AM »
Far from the worries of Banites, wars; corrupted governments lays the sleepy farming community of Humbert.  It’s sweeping fields have known peace for as long as anyone can remember; the town has known few hardships save until recently with the scant harvest.  Still, its citizens would trade their land for nothing.

However, the town harbors a dark history so ancient that even it’s eldest members know nothing about it.  That, until now, has remained silent for centuries.  Two lads from the town decided to strike it on their own; become adventurers.  A life harvesting crops just wasn’t enough.. Eager; skilled few in the community questioned their ability to survive; as such they left early in the morn, striding directly into the Neverwinter Woods in hopes of finding a certain famed camp.  Their hopes were dashed when they came across something in the woods, however.  Not more than half a day later one of the boys returned with his fellow dead in his arms ranting on about a demonic wolf, and dark monoliths.

Bodies turn up in the night; strange noises can be heard in the darkest hours.  Fear grips the community for the first time in decades; with the town on the verge of panic the Mayor has given up on aid from Neverwinter and sent a call for help out into the area.

Can you and your comrades solve Humbert’s secret before it’s to late?

Player's Corner / Sand box ahoy.
« on: May 18, 2007, 11:59:03 PM »
Well, orders are in.  I've moved units; already getting the papper work done.  Only had to watch the slot like a vulture.. but meh.

Heading out in mid-Aug, and will likely disapear for a while after that.  Don't know what the internet situation will be, a good chance I won't be on LotN for 15 months (yeah, 15 month deployment.. phew.) -- likely longer as they're already expecting delays here and there   .

Good news is I've already gotten my job disc on my ERB, it says lab.  So I'm going to be doing my job!  Which has me all sorts of giddy, specaily considering I'll be seeing a lot of micro out there -- love micro labs.

Anywho.. been grand folks.  If I don't see yeh around, well.. egh..
and if I DO manage internet out there, all the more to w00t about.

Player's Corner / Samar, Samar; Samar! The big rescue. (or fubar)
« on: May 12, 2007, 05:46:21 AM »
Well kinda good and kinda bad news.

Good news is: I'm immune to all duties this weekend because I'm too busy hacking up a lung;  loosing my lunch.

Bad news is: I'm hacking up a lung and loosing my lunch.  And I can't leave the B's because of it.

Going to TRY to knock out the Samar thing, sat if enough folks are on; sunday if not on sat.  I can't really give a time, mostly because I've been sleeping intire days away due to this bug.  Already gotten a good deal better though, so it shouldent hold me back TOO much.

Just try to be logged on this weekend after 5-7ish my time (in texas, make your own damn time checks!) If'n your wanting to be a part of this.

Its about damn time it get done; I'm sorry for how long its already taken.  Supose you could post here if you're wanting to come, I'll likely wait for 2/3rds of the folks who post here.

Player's Corner / Rules Updates
« on: May 01, 2007, 12:47:35 AM »
[Edited on May 1st 2009 by PinkEvil]

ITEM RESTRICTIONS:

Yes, +5 AC/Saves/Enchantment have been allowed.  HOWEVER, the limit on ability score modifiers has remained the same.  +3 is the most you may have in equipment that boosts your Str/Con/Dex/Int/Wis/Cha.  This ruling was to help prevent min-maxing builds.  Live with your weaknesses or spread out one's gear; etc.  (Exp: A sorc with all their slots given to cha items forgoes wearing a amulet of natural armor +5, instead of maxing out the possible bonus with two slots.  They don't have to, but most will choose to.)

PARTIES:

While in a dungeon all traveling together are to remained partied.  After taking a closer look a game mechanics this has been decided to be the only fair way to have a low and high level char travel together.

PRESTIGE CLASSES:

-- Shadow Dancers: Take 1 bard/rogue/ranger/monk/assassin/BlackGaurd level per SD level and must take at least 5 levels in SD.  Esentialy, one for one. For every level in your stealthed base classes you must also have a SD level.  (Exp: 5rogue/5assassin/10ShadowDancer.   Exp2: 5rogue/5ShadowDancer/10 fighter)

They will still require DM permission to play, but the doors are open once more.

-- RDD: Take 1 bard/sor level per RDD level and must take at least 5 levels in RDD.  One for one once again, for every RDD lvl you want you must have a bard/sorc level to match it.  With a minimum of five in both.  Exp: 10Brd/10RDD.   Exp2: 5Sor/5RDD/10Fgt

Note: your bard/sor level must always be equal to or greater than your RDD level. You cannot take 5 bard then 10 RDD and catch up the other 5 bard later.

They will still require DM permission to play.

-- Harpers also require DM permission to play.

(Subrace/Prestige Class requests can be posted here: http://www.lotn.info/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7)

General Discussion / Lamest Powers. Ever.
« on: March 30, 2007, 04:46:41 AM »
Started this one up around the unit, gotten some pretty good answers.

Out of all the super powers you have EVER heard of, which would you have to say is the lamest of all time?   Heroes, villians, something inbetween.. it dosnt matter. -- lets see the geek in all of you..

----------------------------------

Mine? Its a tie

The qualmi (sp?) from Captian planet.  You know, the whee one with a monkey on his shoulder.  He had the power of 'heart'... which he used to call for help; thats about it.  He could of been replaced with a cell phone had they not needed his sorry arse to summon the big guy. (or a fith ethnicity to keep things pc..)

The male wonder twin.  "Form of.. water!".. and all its variations.  His sister?  Oh, she became a saber tooth tiger.  She has a decent power.. but him? To quote a CN com some time ago "I could be defeated by a sponge!  It wouldent even have to be an evil one!"
